In this context, the Summit “Múuch’tambal” on Indigenous Experience: Traditional Knowledge and Biological and Cultural Diversity, has been conceived as a space for meeting and dialogue of indigenous and local communities around the world to share their experiences of conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, and the contribution of their knowledge, innovations and practices for achieving the Aichi and Sustainable Development Goals (ODS).

Objectives

  • To reflect on the importance of interactions between biological and cultural diversity for the implementation of the CBD Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020, its Aichi Targets and its interaction with the ODS.
  • Share information and experiences on the contributions of traditional knowledge, innovations and practices of indigenous and local communities to the agriculture, fisheries, forestry and tourism for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for the welfare.
